Mexico is a privileged place worldwide due to its diversity of wildlife, which extends all through the nation and makes for one big, everchanging ecosystem. The Yucatan peninsula is one of these areas, which is made up of the states of Yucatan, Campeche and Quintana Roo. The latter has 22 species of amphibians that represent 95% of the species on the peninsula and 106 reptiles of which 17 are endemic to the region. Its richness in birds and mammals is concentrated by 88% and 96% of the mammals in the peninsula respectively.
In Tulum specifically, we have a large set of amazing birds, and they love LAT! Enjoy these amazing pictures taken by Rick, of our flying friends that are unique neighbors.
