Pickleball: LAT’s new sport trend

Pickleball: LAT’s new sport trend

Its name may sound funny.

But what if we told you that pickleball is mixing tennis, ping-pong, badminton and paddle tennis together in one?

More than four million people have already gotten caught in it and it has spread to 70+ countries!

HOW TO PLAY

Pickleball hooks people because of its ease to play and uncomplicated rules.

It has several similarities with tennis, paddle tennis or badminton. It is ideal to play with family or friends and have fun, regardless of age or physical condition. This is mainly what you should know:

In this sport that can be practiced in pairs or individually, the set is won by the player or team that reaches 11, 15 or 21 points, with at least 2 advantage over the rival. Each match consists of a maximum of 3 sets.

This game is simple and does not require much: a smooth and rigid surface, and portable nets. The usual field has dimensions of 13.4 meters long and 6 meters wide.

Until the ball has bounced once on each side, no one can volley the ball or play it without bouncing.

The ball is served from below, that is, moving the paddle below the waist in an upward movement, without the ball bouncing on the track.
